New Jersey Tech at Marquette
When: 9:00 PM ET, Monday, November 24, 2014
Where: BMO Harris Bradley Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin

Marquette looks to end a two-game losing streak when it hosts NJIT on Monday in the first meeting between the schools. The Golden Eagles are coming off a road loss to Ohio State and a defeat to visiting Omaha on Saturday. The Highlanders have also lost two in a row as they open a four-game road trip.

Matt Carlino is averaging 11 points and 5.7 assists in his first season at Marquette after graduating from BYU with a year of eligibility. Juan Anderson is taking advantage of a starting role after getting limited minutes as a reserve last season, averaging 15 points and 6.7 rebounds for the Golden Eagles. Damon Lynn is averaging 16.5 points for NJIT, but is shooting only 31 percent from the field.

TV: 9 p.m. ET, Fox Sports 1

ABOUT NJIT (1-3): The Highlanders are struggling with their shooting, hitting 39 percent from the floor, and ball handling, averaging 16 turnovers. Ky Howard has been the exception, scoring 13.3 points per game while shooting 68 percent from the field and leading the team with eight rebounds per outing. Willis Winfield is putting up 9.3 points and Tim Coleman is taking down 4.5 rebounds.

ABOUT MARQUETTE (1-2): The Golden Eagles are coming up short on rebounding with 6-11 Luke Fischer, the only player on the team taller than 6-7, ineligible until after finals next month. The team is averaging 24 rebounds and a quarter of that production comes from Anderson, a guard. Steve Taylor Jr. is averaging 10 points and five rebounds to give Marquette three players with double-figure scoring.

TIP-INS

1. Anderson’s 23 points against Omaha was a career high.

2. Lynn made 107 from 3-point range last season, the fourth-best total by a freshman in NCAA Division I history.

3. Sandy Cohen III is the only true freshman on the Marquette roster and is averaging 8.3 points and 3.3 rebounds as a starter.

PREDICTION: Marquette 74, NJIT 62
