Florida Gulf Coast at Florida
When: 6:30 PM ET, Friday, November 27, 2015
Where: Stephen C. O'Connell Center, Gainesville, Florida

Florida hosts interstate foe FGCU on Friday in a rematch of a memorable NCAA Sweet 16 game in 2013 in which the Gators ended the Eagles' Cinderella run. Both teams still are trying to create an identity, with the Gators being led by new coach Mike White and the Eagles counting on a number of inexperienced players.

Florida overcame a sluggish start in its last game against Vermont by scoring 52 points in the second half en route to an 86-62 win. "I just thought it was by far our most mature performance in terms of offensive and defensive decisions, especially in the second half," White told reporters after the game. The coach elevated sophomore Devin Robinson to a starting role, and the forward responded with a 15-point, eight-rebound performance that included 12 points in the first five minutes of the second half. FGCU also got off to a slow start against Bowling Green in its last contest and never could catch the Falcons, falling 82-77 despite a 26-point performance by redshirt freshman guard Zach Johnson, who scored only 18 in his first four games.

TV: 6:30 p.m.ET, SEC Network

ABOUT FGCU (3-2): The Eagles are coming off a game in which their starters scored only 19 points while the bench contributed 59, led by Johnson's outburst and 21 from Christian Terrell. Perhaps the starters were feeling the impact of playing for the third time in three nights in the Eagles' Hilton Inn Garden Classic, considering the first contest was a tiring triple-overtime win over Youngstown State. Redshirt junior foward Marc-Eddy Norelia, the team's leading scorer (18.4 points per game), recorded only four points against the Falcons after scoring 34 in 52 minutes in the triple-overtime game.

ABOUT FLORIDA 4-1): Senior foward Dorian Finney-Smith, the team's top scorer at 13.8 points per game, had his best performance of the young season against Vermont, filling up the stat sheet with 20 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals. The Gators have outrebounded all five of their opponents by almost 10, with Finney-Smith, Robinson and USF sophomore transfer John Egbunu combining for 22.8 per contest. Starting point guard Kasey Hill scored 14 points with four assists and no turnovers against the Catamounts, his best game thus far.

1. Florida Gs Hill (3-for-5) and Chris Chiozza (7-for-14) have shot well from 3-point range, but the rest of the team is only 30-for-104 (28.8 percent).

2. Finney-Smith's performance against Vermont marked the first time since February 2010 a Florida player (Chandler Parsons) recorded at least 20 points, six rebounds, six assists and three steals in a game.

3. FGCU senior C Filip Cvjeticanin is the only player on the team who appeared in the NCAA Tournament loss to the Gators in 2013.

PREDICTION: Florida 86, FGCU 70
