Where: CFE Federal Credit Union Arena, Orlando, Florida

UCF looks to take a little momentum into American Athletic Conference play with a second straight victory when it hosts Southeastern Louisiana on Monday night. The Knights, who start league action on New Year’s Eve against Tulsa, snapped a three-game slide with a 75-70 victory over Detroit on Wednesday with a sharp-shooting effort. UCF’s freshman guard duo of B.J. Taylor and Adonys Henriquez face a tough challenge against a productive Southeastern Louisiana backcourt.

Taylor and Henriquez account for almost 38 percent of the Knights’ offense, including 39 points against Detroit, and average more than five assists per contest. The Lions are led by 6-0 guards Zay Jackson and Joshua Filmore, who average more than 28 points and six assists combined per game while making 49 shots overall from 3-point range. Southeastern Louisiana is coming off an impressive 81-71 victory over Winthrop on Friday, but has yet to win in eight true road contests.

TV: 7 p.m. ET, ESPN3

ABOUT SOUTHEASTERN LOUISIANA (3-8): The Lions faced tough challenges against Oklahoma, Gonzaga and Oklahoma State early on and put their best foot forward against Winthrop, shooting 56.6 percent from the field. Jackson averages 15.7 points and four assists while Filmore is scoring 12.6 per contest and has drained 29 from 3-point range. Senior forward Devonte Upson recorded 15 points against Winthrop to raise his average to 10 and leads the team in rebounding (7.9).

ABOUT UCF (6-4): The Knights will have to be better defensively if they are to be a factor in the AAC race after allowing 45 percent shooting in the first 10 games – last in the league. Taylor (14.1 points) and Henriquez (11.1) lead a capable offense for UCF, and fellow guard Brandon Goodwin adds 8.1 points and a team-high 3.9 assists per game. The Knights have played better this season when they have gotten contributions inside, and 6-9 forward Staphon Blair had a season-high 14 points versus Detroit.
