Men's College Basketball
Preview
New Orleans at Texas Christian
When: 8:00 PM ET, Thursday, November 20, 2014
Where: Daniel-Meyer Coliseum, Fort Worth, Texas

Experienced TCU will try to continue its hot start when it hosts New Orleans on Thursday. Third-year coach Trent Johnson isn't surprised - or satisfied - with the 2-0 start. "What I let them know (after Monday's win against Washington State) is what went on right now is what's been expected of them," Johnson told reporters. "But I don't really have to tell them that. In that locker room they believe they can be a good basketball team, they believe they can play with some consistency versus good teams."

The Horned Frogs had fast starts in both games - holding each opponent scoreless for the first four minutes - and have 95 rebounds in two games. Kyan Anderson leads TCU with 14 points and five assists while posts Karviar Shepherd, Kenrich Williams and Chris Washburn are all shooting 50 percent or better. New Orleans won its opener Tuesday and has two starters returning from last year's 11-15 squad.

ABOUT NEW ORLEANS (1-0): Newcomer Kevin Brown had a team-high 18 points off the bench as the Privateers beat Pensacola Christian 88-61. Freshman Colton Weisbrod went 6-of-6 from the floor for 12 points and six rebounds off the bench and leading returning scorer Kevin Hill (7.9 points last year) had seven points and six rebounds. The Privateers forced 27 turnovers and blocked five shots.

ABOUT TCU (2-0): Shepherd, who started 30 games last year as a freshman, is averaging 10.5 points and a team-best 9.5 rebounds while Williams, a transfer from New Mexico Junior College, is adding 10 points and nine boards. The big men give the Horned Frogs - who are plus-16.5 on the boards and have 12 blocked shots - an advantage inside. Trey Zeigler, who played previously at Central Michigan and Pittsburgh, adds 10.5 points on 64.3 percent shooting.

2. Anderson has scored in double figures in 16 straight games.

3. New Orleans is playing a Big 12 opponent for the first time since beating former league member Colorado in 2007.
