Tulane vs Mercer
When: 8:00 PM ET, Thursday, November 26, 2015
Where: Nashville Municipal Auditorium, Nashville, Tennessee

Dylan Osetkowski committed himself to fitness and weight training this offseason, and the early results have been impressive. Osetkowski aims to lead Tulane over Mercer when the teams meet Thursday in Nashville as part of the Music City Challenge.

Osetkowski, a 6-9 sophomore, has increased his average from 6.3 points to 11.5 points while his rebounding has more than doubled from 4.8 to 11.3. “I’m quicker off the ground,” Osetkowski said via The Advocate. “I definitely notice being more active with a quick first step. I have a mindset of trying to get every rebound I can. It’s not letting my guy or any player on the other team get a rebound.” Osetkowski is one of three players averaging double-digit points for Tulane, which has alternated wins and losses in its first four contests. Mercer, meanwhile, is looking to bounce back from its first loss - a 77-71 setback against Davidson on Monday.

TV: 8 p.m. ET, American Sports Network

ABOUT TULANE (2-2): The Green Wave are averaging 76 points per game behind Osetkowski and a talented senior backcourt that combines for 28.3 points per contest. Louis Dabney (14.8) has made multiple 3-pointers in every game, while Malik Morgan (13.5) is the team's best 3-point shooter at 40 percent. Tulane averages 44.5 rebounds per contest - tied for 32nd nationally entering Wednesday - but things won't come easy on the boards against Mercer, which has pulled down 45.3 rebounds on average (24th in the country).

ABOUT MERCER (3-1): Stephon Jelks paced the Bears with 18 points and 11 rebounds against Davidson to increase his team-high averages to 12.5 points and 8.5 rebounds. Phillip Leonard (12.3 points) is the only other double-digit scorer on the season for Mercer, which has knocked down only 27 percent of its 3-pointers. Jestin Lewis is 3-for-21 from long range and Jelks is 4-for-14, although Demetre Rivers (6-of-13) is off to a nice start from outside the arc after making only one 3-pointer a season ago.

1. It will be a busy weekend for both teams as Tulane and Mercer take the court Thursday, Friday and Sunday as part of this event.

2. Mercer has registered a total of 10 blocks in four games, seven of which have been recorded by Desmond Ringer.

3. Tulane hopes to cut down on its average of 17 turnovers per game, although Dabney has only committed eight in 123 minutes over four games.
